Meet Willem Touw

Welcome — I'm Willem (Sebastian) Touw, a software developer and Engineer at SHI. I build practical, high‑impact products and platform solutions with a focus on cloud, AI, and infrastructure.

I'm currently a junior at Rutgers University, where I've maintained a position on the Dean's List throughout my academic career. My studies focus on computer science and information technology, providing me with a strong foundation for my professional work.

My current product work centers on BoatBroker. It launches this fall and combines a modern marketplace with booking and professional tools that make it easier to transact and operate on the water. BoatBroker is an independent venture and is not affiliated with SHI.

I'm also the creator of VeriTruths, a Chrome extension designed to combat misinformation online. This tool leverages the latest models from OpenAI to analyze content and help users identify potentially misleading information. This project represents my commitment to using technology to address real-world challenges.

My approach to technology is straightforward: ship reliable software that solves real problems, respects users, and scales.
